Melissa and Danny are some of my closest friends. So much so, that I actually was in the wedding along with my husband, Dan. Thankfully the AKP lead associate photographer, Rachel, and second photographer, Jess came to document this Penn Oaks Golf Club Wedding in West Chester, PA.

Penn Oaks Golf Club Wedding in West Chester, PA

Melissa and Danny’s day started with both of them getting ready. Melissa, at the bridal suite at Penn Oaks Golf Club, while Danny at the Residence Inn Philadelphia. Since all of AKP’s wedding packages come with second photographers, this makes getting photos of the getting-ready process seamless and possible.

First Looks

As Danny and his groomsmen finished getting ready and made their way to the wedding venue, Melissa slipped into her dress for her first look with her bridesmaids. I can tell you firsthand (since I was there) that she looked like the most absolute beautiful bride. Stunning and absolutely radiating on her special day. Before long, we guided Melissa out back to a secluded area for her to do a first look with her dad before meeting up with Danny for their first look. Basically, there was a whole lot of first looks going on here.

Portraits

Your wedding timeline is extremely important, especially when it comes to your wedding portraits. Due to the layout for the remainder of the day, we decided to aim for all portraits to be done prior to the wedding ceremony. Since Penn Oaks Golf Club is so large, we were able to utilize the space to our advantage. Their are beautiful gazebo’s and the weather was just perfect, so we got to spend some time celebrating the soon-to-be newlyweds during this time.

Since it was Fall and the sun set a little bit earlier, we were actually able to take golden hour portraits before the ceremony. This never happens! Nonetheless, they turned out absolutely stunning and it wasn’t long until we were on our way to get these two hitched!

Ceremony & Reception

Typically, before the reception we tuck away the bride and groom so that guests don’t see them yet. As we waited in anticipation and received our cue, the music came on and the ceremony officially began. Surrounded by all of their friends and family, Melissa and Danny had an emotional and beautiful wedding ceremony. You may even notice me alongside Melissa as her bridesmaid!

After the ceremony and brief cocktail hour, we then moved into the reception space. In this reception space you had a wide open dance floor and it was beautifully decorated. From that point on, you could expect dance parties galore, the drinks were flowin’ and everyone was so excited to celebrate Melissa and Danny. Melissa and Danny had some beautiful speeches and a blessing given by their Uncle. The remainder of the night was spent dancing our socks off (with a cut out of Beyoncé of course) and congratulating the newlyweds!
