Summer Wedding at French Creek Golf Club

Kelly and Ryan are the type of couple where their personalities are so infectious. From the moment I first met them I knew that these two were meant to be. Luckily for me, I was given the honor to capture their wedding day and from start to finish it was just perfect. Keep reading to see more of their Summer Wedding at the French Creek Golf Club.

Getting Ready

Whenever I work with my couples, it is vital that we create a proper wedding day timeline. Your timeline is what makes sure we are all on the same page and to leave no stone unturned. We strongly encourage our couples to be as open as possible about what they want photographed on their special day. Then we do everything we can to make sure it fits within the time you have us! In Kelly and Ryan’s case, the AKP team headed over to the wedding venue to start shooting with Kelly and her bridesmaids.

Summer Wedding at French Creek Golf Club

Kelly and Ryan got married at the French Greek Golf Club here in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The French Creek Golf Club is the perfect mix of modern and historic decor and architecture. It features a 3,000 sq ft. ballroom, terrace room and even a restored barn dating back to the 1820’s. The land that the golf club sits on is just breathtaking and I am forever in awe of how beautiful all of the buildings, decor and landscaping are. To read more about the venue, just click here!

We started off the early afternoon by taking some detail photos while the bride and bridesmaids finished up getting ready. Items like your wedding dress, jewelry, stationary, floral arrangements and such are perfect examples of items to prep before your photographer arrives. This helps us a TON in the long run and makes sure that as soon as we arrive we can begin photographing! While I was with Kelly and her bridesmaids, AKP’s second photographer, Emily, was with Ryan and his groomsmen. This is a perfect example of why us wedding photographers strongly encourage having a second photographer on your wedding day. Since we are unable to be two places at once, having two photographers ensures that every moment is captured and nothing is missed. Hey, we may be a bit biased though haha!

Outdoor Ceremony

Kelly and Ryan opted to not do a first look so before we knew it, it was ceremony time! Kelly and Ryan both stuck to bright and vibrant florals so the archway they stood under during the ceremony was just breathtaking. The moment that Kelly walked down the aisle, you could just tell that everyone’s breath was blown away. Ceremonies are typically an emotional time and I can tell you that there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. The weather was just beautiful and even though it was in the middle of summer, we braved through the heat and it was 100% worth it.

Wedding Portraits

Once the ceremony was done, I snuck Kelly and Ryan away for their wedding portraits. Since the golf club is so large and there is so many beautiful locations, we could really go anywhere and it be perfect. The world is our oyster, is that the saying? The chemistry between these two were absolutely unmatched and they were complete naturals in front of the camera. Kelly and Ryan both took their engagement photos with me so we were able to meet prior to the wedding day. This not only gave them a chance to meet me and feel comfortable in front of my camera, but gives an opportunity to practice if you’re not one to take photos often. So if you’re looking to make sure you’re not stiff in front of the camera, having your engagement photos taken by your wedding photographer can make the worlds of a difference.

Reception

As the sun began to set, that was our signal to head back inside to the ballroom for Kelly and Ryan’s reception. There we were greeted with applause for the newlyweds and a whole lot of smiling faces. Both Kelly and Ryan had their first dances with their parents and with each other before deep diving into all of the fun festivities. Kelly and Ryan had cheeseburgers served to their guests and quite honestly it was perfect. Who says you need traditional catering done on your wedding day? Do whatever you want! We ended the day with a whole lotta good drinks, dancing and did I mention drinks? It was such an amazing experience and the AKP team feels so honored to have been apart of this journey for Kelly + Ryan.
